Welcome to our latest Creator Spotlight, a series dedicated to celebrating the voices shaping modern fan media and introducing supporters to the people behind and in front of the camera. Each feature takes a closer look at the passion, commitment and creativity that drives fan-led football content.
This week, we caught up with Adam Gittings who has been producing and creating match day content for his dedicated channel covering all things Doncaster Rovers.
Here’s what he had to say…
1. What made you start creating football content?
I wanted to show people what I love about going to the football, how it's not just the 90 minutes on the pitch. It's what I do pre match, the same people you see every Saturday, the emotions you go through, travelling around the country and why I love it so much.
2. How long have you supported your club, and what’s your earliest or favourite memory of being a fan?
I've been supporting Doncaster Rovers for just under19 years. I only went to our old ground (Belle Vue) twice but my Dad bought us both tickets for Christmas for the opening game at our new stadium on New Year's Day 2007, and the rest is history...
3. What do you enjoy most about making content for fellow fans?
I love being able to share my experience of the match with other fans and show what I got up to throughout the day. It's also great to talk and interact with other fans to get there perspective on the match.
4. If you could fix ONE thing about modern football, what would it be and why?
Everyone tries to play like prime Barcelona, even in Non League. I miss the variety that different teams used to have.
5. Matchday routine — any superstitions?
For home matches, meeting my Dad at our local for a few pints before getting a taxi to the bar at our ground to meet everyone else for a bit before the game. For Awaydays breakfast at the Mallard pub near the train station and then getting the train to the match. I don't have any superstitions, however at the start of the season we went unbeaten for ages when I wore the same t shirt, so I wore that to every game for a long time.
6. What’s the one thing fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I used to played table tennis to a National standard
7. Your club in ONE word — go.
Stressful
8. What do you want fans to take away from watching your content?
All the ups and downs of following your team up and down the country. Plus what I get up to on a matchday's and why I love going to the football.
