KRO 1875

Birmingham City

Welcome to our latest Creator Spotlight, a series dedicated to celebrating the voices shaping modern fan media and introducing supporters to the people behind and in front of the camera. Each feature takes a closer look at the passion, commitment and creativity that drives fan-led football content.

This week, we caught up with KRO 1875, a Birmingham City fan channel dedicated to capturing the full matchday experience. From vlogs and reactions to transfer talk and the occasional rant, their content reflects the reality of following the Blues — honest, passionate and unfiltered. Run by a father-and-son duo, KRO 1875 is a great example of proper fan culture, sharing the highs and lows of supporting Birmingham City together and bringing supporters along for the journey every step of the way.

Here’s what he had to say…

1.  What made you start creating football content?

Me and Alfie always talk about football and been a massive fan of YouTube channels, ranging from fishing to skateboarding to guitar playing. It was last summer and we were in Spain on holiday sitting taking about our league one performance and results. Alfie remembers scores, goal scorers I’m absolutely terrible. Then Alfie said, “we should record stuff to look back on?” So, I said “we’ll do it even better! Let’s do a YouTube channel!” Then the creative bug got me.

2.  How long have you supported your club, and what’s your earliest or favourite memory of being a fan?

Been a fan of Blues since I was about 12yrs old. Earliest memory would be me and my pal would walk up to the ground and get in for free at half time as they used to open the gates. This was when the Kumars owned us must have been early 90’s and the old Kop was a building site. I can’t remember the first game though I think it was Stoke .

3.  What do you enjoy most about making content for fellow fans?

I love getting feedback about our content, if only one person likes it it’s worth doing it. Love people coming up to us saying “What’s happening Bluenoses?”

4.  If you could fix ONE thing about modern football, what would it be and why?

Young players having to earn the right to gain high salaries, should be boot cleaning, tidying up like so many legends have done in the past. Listening to so many old pro's on podcasts the young lads now don’t really respect the position they’re fortunate to be in and there paid too much too soon.

5.  Matchday routine — any superstitions?

No pre match routines really, we park in the same place, walk the same way and catch up with some pals before the game.

6.  What’s the one thing fans would be surprised to learn about you?

You’ll be surprised to know that I was a spurs fan when I was 6 pretending to be Chris Waddle & later became a United fan because of Lee Sharpe, as a left footer he was my idle growing up. But later it became Martin Grainger!

7.  What do you want fans to take away from watching your content?

Just to enjoy it and give honest feedback to us. After all it’s just a lad and his dad making memories.
